A night at the races! Apr 08

For anyone unlucky enough not to have made it to last month’s ‘Nags & Nachos’ 35th Anniversary celebrations, quite simply it was a huge success!!
A DKC ‘evening out’ on this scale had not been held for a number of years and though organisers the event turned out to be one of the biggest and best DKC members’ and supporters’ events we can remember, thanks to the hard work of our ticket-touting super sales team and the fantastic support, of course, of all of you who bought tickets and came along for the night.

As the doors opened on the Saturday night, we were joined by well over 130 members, families, friends, sponsors and even some exmembers who saw the event in the paper and just came along for the night to say hello.

With eight ‘video horse races’ held throughout the night and some great prizes to be won from a number of generous sponsors, not only did we have a brilliant and memorable Anniversary celebration, but we also raised an incredible £1300 on the night as well!

Thanks have to go out to those hard working organisers of the event - Dave, Michelle and Anna, to Kirsty and Emma who put together the brilliant photo gallery and to Helen who without doubt should have a sideline in the ticket sales business!!

I really hope that everyone had as good a night as we did; rest assured there are plans to hold a similar event next year to bring everyone back together for another great DKC night out.
