Giving kids a break

Network Rail raise over £7,000 for Derby Kids’ Camp!

Date: 14.10.2018

We’d like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to staff at Network Rail who have been busy raising a huge amount of money for Derby Kids’ Camp this year!

The Midland Mainline Electrification Project Team chose Derby Kids’ Camp as their Charity of the Year in 2017-18 and have raised a fantastic total of over £7,000 to support the charity!

The Network Rail team have been busy with a variety of projects – the largest being a sponsored coast-to-coast cycle ride; along with a charity cricket match and bucket shaking at Pride Park during a Derby County match to help top up the total raised.

The money raised will fund almost a full week of camping, providing much-needed holidays to dozens of local children in need.

Derby Kids’ Camp Chairman, Chris Edwards said "we are so grateful to Network Rail for their fantastic support of Derby Kids’ Camp. The money raised will make a phenomenal difference to local kids, allowing us to take over 50 deserving young children on a free holiday - which will make a real positive difference in their lives and leave them with fantastic memories of a happy childhood summer holiday."

Congratulations to all the Network Rail team on their fantastic fundraising effort, and a huge thank you from all of us at Derby Kids’ Camp!
