We were amazed to receive a cheque for £4,000 from Derbyshire Community Male Voice Choir as a result of their fundraising efforts this concert season!
DCMVC chose Derby Kids’ Camp as their charity of the year and have been raising money since the start of their concert season in October 2018. A retiring collection was taken at the end of each of their concerts, and a number of carol singing sessions in Derby city centre before Christmas boosted the fundraising results.
The culmination of all this hard work was a sold-out concert at St Nicholas Church, Allestree on April 6th, where DCMVC shared the stage with Hothouse Gospel Choir. The event was a huge success and both choirs performed brilliantly. A number of DKC volunteers were in the audience and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Derby Kids’ Camp Chairman, Chris Edwards, was then invited to the choir’s annual dinner in May 2019, where he was overwhelmed to be presented for a cheque for £4,000 as a result of the choir’s hard work.
Chris said “It has been a pleasure to have worked with DCMVC this year. They’ve put a huge amount of hard work and enthusiasm into supporting Derby Kids’ Camp and we’re incredibly grateful for all their efforts. The amazing total raised will make a huge difference to almost 30 young children who will now receive a much-needed break over the summer!”
A huge thank you from Derby Kids’ Camp to everyone involved for your amazing support of DKC this year!
