CIE-Group's 'Lycra Lads (and Lady!)' - cycle team 'Team 00Heaven' - this week delivered a cheque to local children's charity Derby Kids' Camp, which will help to send young, disadvantaged children from the local area on a much needed holiday this summer.
Team 00Heaven – consisting (left to right in picture) of CIE-Group’s Martin Featherstone (CYP Product Manager), Kevin Sherwood (Field Sales Director), Lauren Bamford (Field Sales) and Steve Collin (Group Sales Director) – spent 3 days in September 2012 cycling over 550 miles across France to raise funds for three fantastic charities; Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation and CIE-Group’s chosen local charity Derby Kids’ Camp.
Having previously raised thousands of pounds for the Charity, Team 00Heaven this week presented Derby Kids’ Camp’s Chairman Chris Edwards with a further £600 which will cover the costs of another 6 children’s free holidays this summer.
Derby Kids’ Camp provides free holidays to more than 350 disadvantaged young children from the local area each year, providing what is often each child’s only holiday opportunity in the year. Supported by a team of unpaid volunteers, the children enjoy a week’s camping holiday in the great outdoors experiencing the countryside, outdoors activities, crafts, games and a range or trips such as Chatsworth and swimming.
Charity Chairman Chris Edwards (also CIE-Group’s Marketing Director) gave his thanks to the Company’s lycra-clad heroes; ‘On behalf of everyone at Derby Kids’ Camp, and most importantly all of the children who will benefit from an unforgettable holiday this year, we want to thank Team 00Heaven and all the CIE-Group staff for their amazing achievement once again this year and for their ongoing support and generosity.’
CIE-Group Sales Director Steve Collin added, ‘A huge thank you to all those customers, friends and families who generously sponsored us and supported us throughout the ride. Look out for details of this Autumn’s event coming soon; we’re already making plans!...
